Thread: 1851 census look up Northants/Lincs

Hi everyone, I am looking for a Benjamin Binder (b.1829) and his family in the 1851/1861 census. I want to find out if he and his wife,Frances (b.1830) had children. Would someone be kind enough to help me please. They should be in Northamptonshire or just over the border in Lincs. Thanks Roberto.

I found him at Duddington, Northants, a few doors down from The Crown Inn.



1851



Benjamin Binder, aged 23, born c1828, Duddington, Northants. Ag Lab.

Fanny aged 24, Wife, born Rutland, Kettle.

Joseph Binder aged 1 year born Duddington, Northants.



Living next door is a Robert Binder aged 64, Married, Ag Lab born Northants ?Dildon.

In 1861 the details for Benjamin and Frances is pretty much the same. Frances birthplace is given as Rutland, Ruston. Benjamin is still an ag lab aged 33 born in Duddington.



Here are the children.

Joseph Binder, aged 12 ag lab

Thomas, aged 10 ag lab

William aged 8 a Scholar

Henry aged 6 a scholar

Ann aged 2

Charlotte aged 1 month.

There was a Benjamin Binder marriage in the March Quarter of 1849 in the Stamford registration distict and there was a Frances Jackson on the same page. You will have to send for the cert to confirm this but I think this is her maiden name.

Benjamin died in the March quarter 1895 aged 67 in Stamford district. Born c1828.



Here is the 1871 census for them.



Benj Binder aged 42, Labourer born Duddington, Northants.

Frances Wife aged 43 born Coa(illegible)eyton. Probably in Rutland

Joseph aged 21, Son, Labourer, born Duddington

Henry, aged 15, Son, Labourer, born Duddington

Eliza, aged 7, daughter, a scholar born Duddington

Ann, aged 5, daughter, scholar born Duddington

Charlotte aged 3, scholar born Duddington.

In the 1881 census he is a thrashing machine worker (Agricultural Attendant). I think Frances birthplace is Colleyweston.



In 1881 there are only 3 children with them which is Charlotte aged 13, John W aged 28 and Frances aged 8.
