Thread: Alnwick records

Hi



I have traced some of my ancestors back to the Alnwick district in 1804. How can I best go further back please ?

Can I access these without having to visit Alnwick ? I notice that you can buy some on CD. Are these available do you know ?

You'd need to google and to check that what you want is on the discs. Parish registers are unlikely to still be in Alnwick. They'd be in the county archives. LDS family history centres may be able to order copies on microfilm for a small fee for you to borrow for a few weeks.

You might also find the relevant local family history society has made indexes and/or can offer searches and there might be an online parish clerk.

Alnwick parish records can be searched at Woodhorn Museum & Archives, Ashington, Northumberland.
