I can't find Esther Shepley on any other census. Was this definately her maiden name ?

going by the cheshire bmd marriages 1886-1890 Edwin Roylance definately married Esther Shepley,

However I am a little now with Esther's son James S Shepley I went back onto the cheshire bmd's to look for his year of birth and I found that his full name was James Scholes Shepley born 1882

There was an Esther Scholes married to Frederick Shipley between 1881-1885 which would only make Esther about 15 at the time of this marriage.
