Thread: white and rivett in norfolk

i have found a thomas rivett born approx 1873 in shipdham, norfolk, parents are alfred born approx 1840 and harriet. alfred was born shipdham and harriet was born in letton, norfolk but the street listed on the 1881 census showed the address as mill road, shipdham, norfolk.



i have also found a elizabeth white born approx 1867 norwich, norfolk living at green hills, norwich st clements, norfolk. her mother is listed as being called elizabeth white born new catton, norfolk, but she is listed as a widow. she is also listed as a fishmonger.



does anyone have any more information on these families as i seem to be at a bit of a dead end now?

is it possible that harriet re married as she had a son george aged 3 in the 1891 census but she is listed as being widowed and the 1886 death of alfred would mean the child was born with a different father if these are accurate?

If Harriet remarried both she and George would have a different surname. If its the same name, then I would think George was possibly illegitimate, but you'd need the baptism or birth cert to be certain.



Edit - 1891 says George is G.son, so presumably grandson to Harriet.
