Thread: Golborne Lancashire

I am looking for a Baptism in Golborne Lancs They did not have a Church until 1849 St Thomas's, any idea's which was the local church before them?

According to Genuki, St Thomas' was established 1829.



Looking at google maps the nearest place to Golborne seems to be Lowton, which has two C of E churches, the earliest one was St Lukes, founded 1733.

Many thank's for that now I have something to go on, just have to find the parish records.

Been doing a bit searching but on luck.I think you no he lived in TOXTETH been looking at churches.Well ST LUKES in LOWTON it the only one to me this the number to the church 01942-728434. Tomorrow i will find if the HISTORY SHOP as the film on record and also you have is date of birth 1816 and no is father name.You can get a cert from WIGAN TOWN HALL £7.00

I have found you john marsh he was born in MAY 8 1815 CHIS 7 AUG JAMES AND ELEN are m/f the church was ST LUKE LOWTON.Dad james was a weaver in 1815.
