I have an Ernest Barson, born Notts 25May1921, father Charles Barson.....I'd be grateful if anyone could find any info at all on either of them please.

Hi, do you know the year Charles was born?



I have found Ernest's birth registration which gives his mother's maiden name as Smitham, however I haven't found a Barson/Smitham marriage.



I did find a probable sister of Ernest's



Alice Barson, birth registered Jun qrt 1914 in Nottingham, mmn Smitham.

Not Charles but there is this Barston / Smithham marriage

Matthews George Nottingham 7b644

Paling Rose Hannah Nottingham 7b644

Smitham Jane Nottingham 7b644



There is a C in Arthurs name which could be for Charles. and it's not unusal for people to be known by a middle name. OR it could just be other family members. And of course you don't really know which pair of names goe together.





Maybe someone could check 1901 census for any clues.



ALthough if this is Ernests parents marriage I would imagine they were quite old when they had him which is still possible



Ernest B/C should give you the full names of his parents and then you would know 100% if this a marriage you want

Afraid I don't know any more info, just that Ernest's marriage cert states his father's name as Charles. I'm going to have to get the birth cert and hope that will give me more info. I'm really grateful for your replys, you've given me some very interesting clues. Thanks a lot.
