Thread: Parish records on Ancestry

Are the parish records on Ancestry (the ones only available on the premium subscription) complete as you would find in an archive centre or am I misunderstanding what they are?

No they are not.

Pallot's marriage and Pallot's birth indexes are on there. There are collections from some counties but mostly marriage licenses and Allegations and probate records. They are nowhere near complete.

There are some quite old records but not by any means complete and very patchy coverage. Much better off looking on www.familysearch.org and/or Freereg which are both free.
