Thread: help with attaching trees

can anyone help with how to attach a section of one tree to another. i have started my tree and gone back 4 generations. i then had an email about a shared tree this new tree goes back a further 6 generations from the point i reached, so i want to cut and paste it into my tree. how can this be done in one go?

A word of warning. It is very nice to be given a lot of information to add to your tree but all it needs is one wrong link and your tree also becomes wrong. Have you checked to see if any of the people near the top of your tree have hints ? (Shown by a green leaf). These will show you if any one else on Ancestry have the same branches. You can then join them from there by chosing which to add. The person that sent the email could also be using Ancestry.

sorry but it would be a case of adding each one individually. I don't think there are many programs that allow you to copy and paste from one tree to another.. I know that Family Tree Maker 2008 allows you to do this by family group.
