Help needed

I have hit a brick wall with the search for Kathleen. I know she was born in Chipping Sodbury in 1907, attended school in Reading between 1917-1920. She had 1 brother and 1 sister. By 1921 both their parents had died. Afer that i cannot trace her at all. I knew the whereabouts of her brother and sister but they lost contact. They are both dead now so no one to ask.

Does anyone have her in their tree at all.? Have searched births, marriages deaths with no luck.

Any help appreciated.

When you say you have checked births marriages and deaths with no luck, do you mean you haven't found her birth registration? She was born Chipping Sodbury reg district 1909 Dec 6a p.237



As for marriages, she could have married over a wide range of years. Have you checked all the quarters of all the likely years?

thanks for reply. Sorry, i have obtained her birth certificate, but nothing of her after 1921.Have done endless marriage searches and death searches covering most areas.

Not sure what you mean by covering most areas? Have you looked in all the quarters of the GRO indexes?

Do you know what happened to her siblings?

hi yes checked all 1/4s and years.her brother went to live with his step grandmother, he died 5 years ago but didnt know what happened to her, the other sister he thinks was fostered but he had some contact with her children in later life. i have been in touch with them and they didnt even know there mum had a sister.

I am begining to think she most have been fostered and changed her name to her new family

She would have been 14 so aware of her birth name, but its possible, though I would have thought a 14 year old would be probably doing domestic work to earn a living by then. Maybe she emigrated?
