Thread: Sarah Edmonds abt 1819 in ???

I am trying to find a date and place of birth and family info for Sarah.

In 1851 she gave Birslow Surrey as her place of birth. In 1861 she married Joseph Bayliss and for the 61,71 and 81 census gave Bermondsey as her birth location.

A possible clue in helping find who her family was is that in the 61 and 71 census there is an Elizabeth Edmonds aged 72 and 84 respectively living two houses away.Elizabeth may or may not be Sarah's mother.Elizabeth gives Bermondsey as her place of birth.

Can anyone help?

Birslow could be a mishearing/recording of Bermondsey.

IGI on www.familysearch.org has this - which makes me wonder if the 1851 Sarah is the same one as the one who married and was born in Bermondsey. Maybe her husband provided the later census info and thought his wife was born in Bermondsey? Or as this girl is 2 years older maybe there are 2 different girls?

There is a Sarah Edmonds baptized 25 Jan 1818 St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey.The parents are John and Elizabeth which would tie in with the Elizabeth next door in the 61 and 71 census.

A copy of the marriage certificate will show me the father's name.
