Thread: Researching War deaths where now?

A little advice if poss.



I know my greatgrandfather was killed in the great war, i know when he died and where he's buried.

What i want to know is what he did in the war, basically his military history, where do i start?

Ive tried the great war forum but its pointing me to the same place which is the fourteeneighteen/research site. With a message stating there not taking on new requests at the moment.



Any idea's???

Put up his name, rank reg no and I will try on Ancestry to see if there are any records etc for him..

I have a newspaper clipping saying he was flown home in 1917 twice injured in battle, he returned and was killed a few months later.
