Thread: Jessie Wood or Scurr

Jessie was taken to be adopted on the death of her mother in 1911.The father died the year later-both of consumption.

She had brothers and sisters who went to Barnardo's.



What has happened to her?

She was born c1906 in Greenwich? Have not found birth certificate for her but have found one sister(my mother in law) and a brother.

Anyone out there know what happened?

I did find Jessie Wood on the 1911

She was with friends of the family then so we assumed at first that she would stay with them but then we found she had been sent to the orphanage and then left but no details as to with whom or where.



We hope she was sent somewhere nice but until we get any more information we are in limbo.



At the moment I cannot sesarch adoptions because of the year it is too early.



Her sister went to Dr Barnardos with a younger brother and I know the history of them but there is another older brother who went to school in Dorset and returned in 1914 aged 14 so where did he go?

I am hoping someone will know
