Thread: John Francis Fegan

Hi everybody



I need a hand finding John Francis Fegan in 1891.



He was b 15 Apr 1855 in Torquay.

He married Ann Laver in Exeter in 1878.

In 1881 the family was living in Shoreditch.

In 1901 he was was in Penzance, and I reckon the enumerator said "Where are you from?" rather than "Where were you born?" because his birthplace is gien as Portsmouth, where his new family is!!

He had been widowed in 1889 and in 1891 all 4 children of that marriage were with their maternal Laver grandparents where they are in 1901.

He remarried Annie Elizabeth Stapleton in Bedford 10 Mar 1896.

He was a pretty shady man according to my father, so may be in hiding!! Or jail!!

Where were the children in 1891?

I've had a quick look, including looking with just his initials, but found nothing. If he was in prison he should still appear on the census.
