Thread: Looking for Edward Week(e)s

I am looking for Edward Weeks, born in Kent in about 1841 son of Jesse. He appears in the 1851 census but is then missing until 1881. He was in the Navy but I thought that I would find his wife, Jane Tyler in 1871 (they married in1867) but I can't find her on any census before 1881. Her father was Thomas Tyler, a pensioner on her marriage certificate. Has anyone any ideas what he might have had a pension from?

Chelsea pensioner? But it might be any kind of pension, I suppose.

When and where was Jane born?

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into both of those. Jane was born in about 1846 in Chatham. She died in 1890, the only times I have found her are the 1881 census and her marriage.

Chatham was a port and also an army recruiting place, so it fits in with her father being a Chelsea pensioner.
