    Default Pinkworthy Farm

    Hi, it's me again!

I need a bit of help to find out about Pinkworthy Farm in Devon. Apparently it was owned by some very distant cousins from my Mum's side of the family. Now this could be either the Hawkins, the Heywoods, or the Hancocks.

The trouble is that there are two Pinkworthy Farms in Devon. One of them is not far from Washfield and the one I'm interested in is in or near Oakford. The other farm at Oakford is Upcott Farm, but we know all about that one.

So if possible, could anyone try and find out who owned it? This would be a massive help because nobody in our family seems to remember!

    Thanks a million.

    Hi Kiwi,

I have some records for Devon and having checked them the only John Francis I came up with was the following:

    John Francis - 4 Polsloe Park Villas,North Avenue,Heavitree,Exeter in 1893, sorry.

    Hi Flood,

Is my memory correct in thinking you have Huxtable's in your ancestry? This name rings a bell and could be a look-up I did for someone else..........but I seem to remember the look-up as yours.

John Francis Venner married either Sarah Hill, or Sarah HUXTABLE. I hope she is yours.

Well Slizzy, the weird thing is that this John Venner was maried to my great granny Ellen Summers before she met and married my great grandfather Harry Hawkins.

Now, none of us knew about this until a couple of months ago. They weren't married for very long and there were no children.

So Pinkworthy Farm has something to do with John Venner? Interesting!

Well this has certainly opened up a few family secrets. That would be worth finding out more about.

As for the Huxtables, I don't think there are any in our family, but you never know!

    Thanks for the help everyone.
