Thread: Finding Henry Street, Rochester, Kent 1937

I'm trying to find where Henry Street, Rochester, Kent was in 1937. It is recorded on a marriage certificate, but the nearest I've found is Henry Street, Chatham, Kent.

Does anyone know if there ever has been a Henry Street in Rochester?

Any clues would be really appreciated.

I have just looked on Google Earth and it is still there!!

Thanks for looking... the Henry Street you've found is actually Henry Street in Chatham, just of Luton road, (although it is listed as Rochester)

However, all is not lost ! I have found the one I wanted on an old map... or rather where it used to be.

If I'm correct, the end of it can still be seen on Hoopers road, as a cul-de-sac to the right of Hoopers place. It would originally have linked Hoopers road with Queens Street, which you can now only see the begining & the end off. Henry Street would have dissected John Street as it linked to Queen Street... just in case you were curious!!!
