Thread: Look up in1901 and 1911 census in Canada please

Good morning everyone. Would some kind person be able to look up the Vernon family in the Canada 1901/1911 census please.

I am after a Charles Vernon b. 1835 in Coventry, England. His wife Mary, b. Worcestershire. Their children Thomas b.c.1880, Arther, Ernest. They may have married by the 1911 census. Carleton, Ottawa and Ontario are all i can offer towards the search. I hope that there are some Canadians beginning to wake up soon and be able to help me. I thank anyone in advance. I have had no luck with either census or the passenger lists. Were the children born in England as well and when approximately did they leave for Canada

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but i had to go out and earn a few pennies!!



I know that the eldest child Thomas was born in England 1880 and married a Sarah McGuirk in Canada. I am not sure where Arther was born but he married a Pearl Lemiwis? in Canada too. Ernest was born in Ontario, possible Ottawa in 1888 and married a Maggie Louise Smith in 1909 at a Baptist church in Ottawa.



So my deduction is they must have left England between 1880 and 1888. The only marriage i can find in England is a Mary Bonell m Job Vernon in 1878. Perhaps Job called himself Charles!

There was another child born around 1892 or 95 and her name was Rosie Vernon.



Family tales are that Mary the mother went to live with Ernest and his wife. Does this mean that Charles died between 1895 and 1911. Could you check out the 1911 census for me. Roberto.

The year of immigration of "May" looks like 1885 though

I am 99% sure that this the daughter Rose. Her age etc fits and her husband's name rings a bell too. I thank you very much for your time. I have now found her brother Arthur/Arther in the 1911 in Nipissing, Northbay, Ontario along with his wife Pearl and their son Heidan Arthur.

What do you mean when you write Immigration year of May (Mary) 1885 and where did you find this? Best wishes Roberto.

Rose' year of birth has been transcribed as 1882 but the image shows 1885.

Thanks for the image, thats fantastic. May/ Mary i found out today was a Widow on the 1911 census.(Canada) I found this on a Canadian website re the 1911 census.I wonder if Rose took her mother to Canada when she left England???? Thanks for all your help once again. Regards Roberto.
