Thread: rivetts and whites in lincolnshire areas

my maiden name was rivett and i was born in spalding, lincs, my mother , cousins, had another child by the man she married.



mum's parents were kitty may adams 1930-1996 and godfrey cousins. godfrey's mum was florence mary (may) stevens. kitty parents were george adams and violet may bedford and i think that kitty had an older sister.



mum's husband's parents were constance evaline cousins and george alfred rivett.



constance had 2 other sisters and her parents were arthur herbert cousins and gertrude lily dolton. gertrude father was william dolton.



george alfred rivett' parents were thomas william rivett, on some occasions these two names have been written the other way around, and elizabeth matilda white.



elizabeth and thomas had at least three children, possibly 4. these are winifred rivett, wilfred hamilton rivett who died very young at the age of about 4 years old and, george rivett and i think there may be another.



any help now on elizabeth white and thomas etc will be appreciated

Gertrude Lily Dolton married Arthur Herbert Cousins Apr-Jun qrt 1906, Spalding Lincs. Marriage ref vol 7a page 853.

This could be Gertrude on the 1901 census..........though to be certain you will have to buy the marriage certificate which will give her father's name and occupation. William was a farmer and beerhouse keeper. *The original sheet looks like DOLTON.

winifred was married in sept i think of 1925 to a guy adams?



wilfred hamilton was born 06/08/1906 and died in 1911



george alfred was born 30/12/1913 and i know he was the youngest

the info is right except the bits on george unless they had two children of the same name. george was born 30/12/1913 to thomas and elizabeth rivett.



i cannot find the marriage records of thomas william rivett who married elizabeth matilda white.



i have noticed that on thomas death certificate his name is thomas william but on the certificate of winifred his son it is william thomas.

this is causing me some problems, any ideas?

I've searched the marriage indexes but can't find a marriage between Rivett/White.

Thanks slizzy for looking, I cant find it either. I can't even find her birth records but i know she died 1935 aged 67 and was at holbeach when she died before her husband.
