Thread: Leeds Burials 1829----

Hi everyone ,at present i am researching the burial registers for St Peters (Leeds )1829 - 1837 with the hope of finding a death listing for an ancestor of mine who lived and worked in what is now the city center of Leeds.

I could not help but notice that quite a few state "burial" St Mary ? ( i assume the church service was held at St Peter but the burial took place at St Mary ) Can anyone tell me anything about this church and where its records may be held.Hope someone can help.

There's a St Mary's in Beeston, Leeds as also a Church of St Mary the Virgin in Hunslet.

not being from Leeds can i ask where is Beeston ? is it near St Peters ,or anywhere near Cavalier Hill or Richmond Hill as it is now known. (Thats where my ancestor lived )

I know your post was a while ago, but there is or was a Church at Richmond Hill called Mount St Mary's.

There are other St Mary's, in Leeds, at Middleton, Swillington, Whitkirk, Hunslet and Allerton Bywater, that I know of.
