Hi Good Peoples,

Matilda in 1881 is the Wife of William Tunbridge, a baker in Poplar, London;

and I have a strong candidate in 1851 in Bermondsey (mother is down as Maria).

In 1881 her place of birth is given as Bristol, whilst in 1851 (assuming I have the right one) it is given as 'Somersetshire'... close enough.

Trying to establish exactly where she came from and her parents details/origins.

Re: Notebook's find ......Bedminster is a district of Bristol. So I'd say Notebook has found the right Matilda.

I knew I could rely on you guys to find something. This fits the bill perfectly. Finding ancestry in a part of the country I never expected is a real twist!
