Thread: block on my Jones side any ideas

I just can't get past the block on my Jones side, as it is such a popular name. I just wish the 1911 census was online now cause I could at least find out where my great grandmother Mary Marion Jones c1878 came from. I have the 1907 marriage cert (age 29) St Pancras ,1933 death cert (age 56)Watford and 1912 birth cert of her daughter (my gran) Willesden,Middlesex and still no closer finding where she came from Even her father's name Edward Jones was a common one and the occ wasn't understandable as a particular one he was a 'Keeper' I was told there was a link to lock keeping in Middlewich but there isn't anything on the 1901 census for this. I was also told he was a Game keeper by another family member so I don't know which one to believe.

The marriage address was a boarding house.

I was also told that Mary had a brother who was a Jeweller in Liverpool so I have asked for a lookup on here so poss I can find the family on the other census logs.



Anyone have any ideas

There's no birth reg for Mary Marion Jones that fits. Marriage age would make her born c. 1876 and death reg c. 1877. What were the exact dates of her marriage and death?

Thanks I did see that on my many searches and have got it on standby but as yet I can't say it's them cause I have a feeling I'm going to have to wait for the 1911 census to know where she was born. I wonder if that family can be found on the 1891 as I wonder what his occ would be then? Did they change occ's often? would there be a 'keeper' part to it? It's that blooming occupation thing that's thrown me more than anything.
