Thread: Advice needed Please

I have a photo of my grandfather's half brother Clifford Fox. I know he was born in Sheffield 1922 to George Fox and Annie Westerman/Portman.

The photo is of his wedding picture and im struggling to find out who he married. The photographer was a Marie Podmore who was from the Lancashire area. I have found a marriage for him to an Evelyn Hartley in Nelson Lancashire 1948.

What would be the best thing to do next?

I also know Clifford Died in his thirties but can't find a death record for him.



Would be interested to know if they had any children etc.



any advice would be appreciated.

I think you would be best to buy the marriage certificate so you can be sure it is the right one though it looks likely.

Would the certificate give me Cliffords Parents names?

It would give father's name (for both bride and groom) but that should be enough for you to be sure that you have got the right certificate

Do you know where Basford is? spoke to another family member today and was informed that he worked for the BBC in london, also had a daughter who died in her teens.

Basford is just north of Nottingham.
