I am looking for Henry Bradford Rider birth reg March 1849 at Bermondsey on the 1851 /1861 census.
His name is too much of a coincidence not to be one of mine
Many thanks![]()

Do you know the names of his parent's?
Hi Thersa. I dont know who his parents were but if he belongs to my Rider family, his father would most likely be either Henry or Frederick.
On the 1851 census I can only find one Henry Rider born Bermondsey

Thank you Theresa but I dont think thats him. His name should definatley be Henry Bradford Rider[ Ryder]. He will probably turn out to be as elusive as the rest of his family. I cant see a death registered for him![]()
Could this be him, in the 1851 census?
Class: HO107; Piece: 1483; Folio: 250; Page: 24
St James Parish, Westminster
15, Wm & Mary Yard:
Henry Rider, Head, married, 44, labourer, b Hayes. Middlesex
Hannah Rider, wife, 43, born Stanmore
William Rider, son, 13, ditto
Henry Rider, 5, b Paddington
Thomas ??? (diff to read - poss Clements) visitor, 9, b Hayes
Its harder to find him in 1861, but in almost the same address as in 1851 is:
Westminster, St James, 14, William and Mary Yard
Henry Rider, 53, Head, chaff cutter, born Hayes Middlesex
Harriett Rider, wife, 52, b Stamforth
Jane Rider, daughter, unmarried 20, born St James, Westminster
Henry Rider, son, errand boy, born St James, Westminster
Charles Kitching, unmarried, lodger, 22, carman, b St James, Westminster
James Eldridge, ditto, unmarried, chaff cutter, Middlesex
It looks as if Henry's first wife had died and he has remarried (either that or her name has been recorded incorrectly). If it is a second marriage then Jane could be the daughter of the second wife, and simply Henry's stepdaughter.
Sorry, forgot to enclose reference for above:

Hi Somerset. I think Henry might be too old here, but his birth might have been registered late. Are Paddington & st James Westminster near Bermondsey?![]()
4.7 miles, according to Google
