Thread: 1841 LookUp request

I am trying to find John and Mary Popple on the 1841 census but have so far had no luck.



John Popple was born abt 1795 in Rutland (birth registered in Stamford).



Mary Popple was born abt 1799 in Empingham, Rutland.



They appear on the 1851 and 1861 census living in Pilsgate, Northamptonshire. From this it shows that in 1841 they would have had the following children:

Richard Popple born abt 1831 in Pilsgate

Edward Popple born abt 1837 in Pilsgate

They could have had more children at this time.



Any help finding them would be greatly appreciated.

I have only just signed up to ancestryaid, so am perhaps a bit late to respond to this thread, but the Popple family in and around Barnack are part of my ancestry. On the 1841 census I have John (Ag Lab) & Mary with children Robert, Richard, Susan, Joseph and Edward. These seem to tie in with your Popples and they were indeed indexed as Petsple. If you are still looking, I do have more detail.

My great great great grandmother was Elizabeth Popple (1842-1915) who married Joseph Mawby. I have that her father was john popple and her mother mary potter. Also that john popple was the son of William Popple and Elizabeth Spencer. I am led to believe that Williams father was William Popple and his father was Samuel Popple and his mother Margaret Leyton. All born in Rutland. Any info you have linking to this branch would be greatly appreciated and if I have something you dont I will happily share it with you.
