Thread: Hertfordshire help

Can anyone help im trying to find parents for a:



Edward Logsdon b)1818 in Clothall, Hatfield, Hertfordshire.



I know he married Martha Hankin and had 5 children, he was a bakerin 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 but thats as far as i can seem to go. Any help would be greatful.

I see in 1881 he was living in Hitchin, which is where I am.



Clothall isn't really near Hatfield, its just outside Baldock. You need to get the baptism register to find his parents.



There are copies at HALS (Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies) in Hertford and also at the Society of Genealogists Library in London.



Unfortunately there aren't any Logsdons in Clothall in 1841 census who might be likely parents. There are some likely elder Logsdons in 1851:



Hannah Logsdon abt 1793 Baldock, Hertfordshire, Head Baldock, Hertfordshire



Hannah Logsdon abt 1791 Upwell, Suffolk, Wife Broxbourne, Hertfordshire



Mary Logsdon & Eward abt 1785 Buckland, Hertfordshire, Wife Therfield, Hertfordshire



Susannah Logsdon & Joel abt 1792 Braughing, Hertfordshire, Wife Enfield, Middlesex

1851 Clothall, Hertfordshire,

1861, Clothall, Hertfoerdshire,

1871, Hatfield, Hertfordshire,



I know the Logsdon stuck to around Hertfordshire and Bedforshire area.
