are you aware that igi brings up the following baptisms for thomas street and martha

    1. BENJAMIN STREET - International Genealogical Index

Gender: Male Christening: 13 APR 1800 Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England

    2. HELEN STREET - International Genealogical Index

Gender: Female Christening: 25 JUL 1803 Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England

    3. NANCY STREET - International Genealogical Index

Gender: Female Christening: 25 JUL 1798 Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England

    4. THOMAS STREET - International Genealogical Index

Gender: Male Christening: 19 MAY 1812 Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England

    5. JOSEPH STREET - International Genealogical Index

Gender: Male Christening: 11 AUG 1805 Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England

therefore the marriage might be a lot earlier than you think as it would appear first child born 1798. ( if same thomas and martha)

    Thanks Welshlady,

I had spotted them before but had discounted them.

However on looking again they may well be of the same parents.

The main reason for my earlier discount was that I have Thomas Street being bapt.27th.mar.1782 at Whiston, son of George and Elizabeth.

Martha was still alive on the 1841 census and her age is aprox.58 so born C.1774. This would make her easily able to be the mother.

From experience Thomas could well have had a late baptism so , again, this could be the right family.

So to sum up, you could be correct and I am now looking for a marriage for Thomas and Martha nearer 1798.

Thansk again for your input. Greatly appreciated, Roy
