Thread: Ernest Pettican

Hi,



I'm trying to find out when my great grandfather died. Ernest Pettican was b.1893 in West Bergholt, Essex and I'm told he died possibly in 1966/67/68. He died in Colchester. Any help as always would be great.



If it is possible to also find out when his wife died that would be very helpful - her name was Daisy Pettican (her name before marriage was Daisy Taylor Warren), she was born in Lexden and likely also died in Colchester. I'm guessing she died in the 1970's.

Do you know if their would be any reason for Daisy to have moved to Hertfordshire after the death of her husband. Did she have any family there ?

Thanx for listing what you have checked out already.

Have checked Jan 1980 - Dec 1983 with no trace of a registration for Daisy Pettican.

There is a Daisy Violet Pettican listed on Findmypast

d.o.b 20/11/1913 died 2000, which would make a 20 year age difference between her and Ernest if this is the right one.

I found one earlier in Ware Hertfordshire. so have left it for now to see if Pettican, comes up with any further information on her.

Hi again - thanks very much to both of you for your help. Having been now able to speak with my father he has told me that Daisy in fact died about 6 months before Ernest did, so 1966. She died in Colchester. They are apparently buried at a cemetery in Colchester. That brings some closure on this.
