    Default James Binney Corrin

I hope someone maybe able to help. I am trying to find out what happened to James Binney Corrin (1889) after Aug 1920 when he was a ships steward aboard the Zealandic when it arrived in New York?

He married Helena Ellen Monkhouse in 1909 in West Derby, Liverpool & they had a daughter, Lena born in 1912. After this there seems no trace of him, did he get divorced, when did he die? Can someone help? Parents William Charles Corrin & Annie Corrin (nee Corrin). Thank you.

If he got divorced or died, there would be records - but it would depend on where he got divorced or died. If he deserted his wife she may have instigated the divorce.

Found in 1938 Liverpool Street Directory

Mrs Helena Ellen Corrin - 116 Broad Green Road,Liverpool.14 (Dressmaker)

Only heads of household are listed, no sign of James Binney, sorry.

Still had no luck in tracing James Binney Corrin but when I spoke to my father in law ( his nephew) today, he told me that he was told by his mother, James' sister that he went to Australia & was never heard from again.

This would explain why he was not in Kellys' Directory of 1938. If he did go to Australia it would have had to be after 1920 because he was a ships' steward on 'Canpoic', 'Baltic' & 'Zealandic' between 1918-1920 when he went between Liverpool & New York.

Has anyone any ideas as it seems difficult to find passenger lists frem that time.
