Thread: william valentine and mary smith

hi everyone can you help me. i'm looking for my greatgrand parents william valentine and mary ann smith from kincardineshire.married 13th nov 1857.they had 3 children in scotland (that i know of) they died in new zealand in the early nineteen hundreds.i'm still trying to fine out which ship they came in and they could have gone to australia first. Any help would be much appreciated.

All these were found on the IGI with Father being William Valentine and mother Mary Ann Smith.

You should be able to find their birth entries on Scotland's People.

the children that i know of in scotland were jemina ewan, john rae and james alexander. jemina and john are buried in dunedin new zealand, james i don't know.the others are george, david adelaide tom and my grandfather robert william who was born 4th april 1876 manuka creek south otago new zealand. its george david adelaide and tom i can't find and there could be 2 others.

thanks so much for your help as i seem to have hit a brick wall. have been checking passenger lists but don't know what ship or when they came to new zealand, they could have even gone to australia first.
