Thread: Map needed!

I could certainly do with some directions as to which road to go down now. I have come to a halt sign with John Taylor born c1775 in Dysart, Scotland and his wife, Janet Smith c1775 not sure where born. They had one son George born 1806 and I have him sorted thanks.



Which is the best way to go now? I have looked on igi etc. but Taylor is such an ordinary name unfortunately and its confusing. Would be grateful if someone with more experience could point me in the right direction. Thanks so much.

John Taylor & Janet Smith were married in Dysart, Fife 16 Nov 1805

Have a Janet Smith listed as born 29 Nov 1777 in Dysart to David & helen Smith GROS Data is 426/0040 0228 if you require certificate

Smith is listed as the mothers maiden name,could be an error but you never know.
