Thread: Warren, Joseph and Mary

Hi, I am looking for Joseph WARREN b abt 1845 (place of birth unknown) who married Mary EDWARDS b abt 1850 in Windsor, Berkshire. They had 5 children Kate, Annie, Charles, William and Joseph. Charles WARREN b 12-1-1872 at either Grantham or Luton ?? married Constance Lillie BALDWIN b 10-10-1881 at Southampton,Hampshire and moved to Australia in 1887 married on 14-2-1900 in Toowoomba, Australia. I am trying to find Charles's siblings and any information on Joseph and Mary. Family history differs but William and Joseph could have been killed in WWI or they could have gone to Canada. Either Kate or Annie could have gone to Canada, one apparently stayed in England.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tena - can you say what are the sources for your information? It looks as if some of it is inaccurate as it's difficult to match against the records.

eg Constance Lillie Baldwin birth Dec 1881 Eton 3a 549 - so not born Southampton.

No birth for a Charles Warren in 1872 in either Grantham or Luton - are you sure of the date of birth? Do you know approximate dates of birth for his siblings?

Hi Gillian, All I have is family information I have not been able to prove anything. Charles Warren is my Great Grandfather he was born 12-1-1872 or 1871 at Grantham, Lincolnshire, but recent info from family members state that it could have been Luton, Bedfordshire. I have looked on the census 1881 but cannot find an exact match.

Constance Lillie Baldwin came to Australia as a baby her date of birth was 10-10-1881 at Southampton, Hampshire or it could have been Windsor, Berkshire. I have no births certificates & don't know where to get them until I can establish where they were born. Charles's siblings were Kate b abt 1868, Annie b abt 1870, William b abt 1875 & Joseph b abt 1880.

I am totally confused as family history is conflicting and none of Charles's children are still alive. Sorry it is such a mess I am not quite sure what to do now. Hoping you can help.

Hi tena - I can't find a family group matching your details for the Warrens

I am sure the reference for Constance Lillie is right though so you could get that birth certificate.

Have you got Charles & Constance's marriage certificate? - if not I should start there and then post the details it gives.

Thank you so much for your help. I will try to get the marriage certificate. Here in Aust they just state place of birth and as I assume Charles was trying to forget his past, he could have put anything. I will try to see if I can look on the local microfiche records of marriages they may have more. I am not even sure now if Charles is the right name. A record of marriage in QLD for Charles and Constance was recorded for 1900 at least that is confirmed. Very confused. Once again thanks. Tena
