Hello all,



I started my family tree 6 months ago and got along great until I got to



Mary/maria Colvin/Colven c. 1798 Calcutta, India British Subject Daughter of James Colvin c. 1778 merchant in Calcutta. I have her in Edinburgh 1818 marrying a Thomas Gibb c.1798 Haddington Dumbarton, commision agent in Calcutta.



I can't find the births, deaths or marriages of James, Mary or Thomas although I do know Thomas died sometime after 1861 when he made his will.



I have searched everything I can think of & have even been in touch with the british library. Problem being I live in Spain so it's a bit hard to go and have a search for myself.



I know there are other Colvins in Calcutta at the same time some quite famous including a famous James Colvin Wife Maria but I can't prove it is the same one.



Any help or advice greatly appreciated as this one is turning slowly into a brick wall.
