Thread: Catherine Ludden

I have been given info to-day from 1881 census about a Catherine Ludden.She was born abt 1906 and died 1923.Registered in Oldham. Greater Manchester. Lancashire.Volume 8d...Page: 678. Quarter Registration, Jan, Feb, Mar. Would it be possible to have the names of her mother and father because I think she is the sister of my mother. Sadly she is also deceased.

Have you put the dates down correctly . If she was born in 1906 she wouldn't be on the 1881 census.

If born in 1906 I think you will need to get her birth certifciate to find her parents names.

I too am puzzled re the 1881 census.



I cannot find a birth for a Catherine Ludden circa 1906 in Oldham. The nearest is 1902 registered Liverpool. What's the info you've been given re 1881 census?



There's a Catherine Ludden 1906 birth registered in Staffordshire

The nearest I can get is Catherine Hunt married to John Ludden in 1902 at Oldham Registry Office Ref RM/102/132





If Catherine was born in 1875. Mother's maiden name Matthews but Catherine born in Preston.

Sorry I couldn't see a Catherine born in Oldham.

I must apologise for all the confusion I have caused over Catherine Ludden.1906. The info was from England & Wales, Free BMD Death Index:1837-1983 Census.

My Grandmother, Catherine Hunt married John Ludden in 1902 . They had a daughter who died when she was 17 and she was Catherine Ludden. Just wanted to verify Catherine and John Ludden were her Parents. I am also researching Catherine Ludden (nee Hunt) my Grandmother, and I must have got my wires crossed along the way.

P.S. The year stated on Census is 1837 should it read 1937?

Hi - unfortunately you would have to buy the birth certificate to verify Catherine's parents.

If you post the information you have been sent someone should be able to tell you what it is
