Thread: Bassett's of London

As a new member, I am hoping this message arrives on the right board.!!

My 'brick wall' is my 3 x g grandfather, John Bassett.

Born c.1792. No birth certificate located. The 1841 census shows he was not born in the census area of London.

He married in Kingston Upon Hull 1811 at the Holy Trinity Church, to Susanna Shannon. The cert states he was in the West Kent Militia at the time.

His 2nd son, John James, my 2 x g grandfather, was born at Canterbury Barracks, Kent, in 1817.

He doesn't appear in the 1851 or 1871 census, that I can find.

Hoping some one can help me to locate his place of birth.

Sorry this is the wrong family.I have looked at them before.

John and Susanna are on the 1841 census residing in Bethnal Green with 4 of their children. All 6 children were christened in London.

Susanna died in London in 1881. She was living with a daughter, as was noted as blind.
