Thread: lost child

can someone please help. i only have the mothers information and and some suggestions to go on. mother's name was mary hale [nee SHIPMAN] she may have even used the name reynolds. mary's date of birth is 1st april 1909. information on the child has not been confirmed but suggestions we have are: child may have been born august september or october 1948 possibly in the sutton-in-ashfield area. could someone please do a lookup as i cant find anything. would appriecate any help i can get. thank you

Is it possible for you to get more information. The name or gender of the child would be of help. Why could the name reynolds have been used ? Was it another marriage. Was the child Legitimate or not and is he/she still living.

mary had the child between marriages.The name hale is her first marriage. she had the child a few months before she married reynolds so she may have used his name[???} she didnt keep the child, so assuming she may adopted it out. we have no idea at all of the sex of the baby or whether they are living still. i think it will be just luck if we find anything out. thanks

hi gillian, told mum about your message and she was saying a person by the name of david contacted them years ago wanting info on the shipman's. last names were different but if this child was adopted it could explain that. mum is going to see if she still has the letter.
