Default first query - re Humston / Hurmstone or any other combination!!

I have a marriage certificate for John Emery and Mary Ann Humstone (although it is VERY difficult to read due to the handwriting) in 1847 in Eccles

I have a birth cert for their daughter, Mary Emery born 1850 in Pendleton - father john and mother Mary Ann Emery formerly Humstone / Hurmstone

I have tracked Mary Ann Hurmstone / Humston or whoever post marriage and her birth was always in Chester, on the marriage cert her father is Samuel and is a farmer and she resided in Pendleton

I cannot trace Mary ann or Samuel on the 1841 census either in cheshire or Pendleton and I can't find anything on the IGI either of a christening or a marriage of Sam

Has anyone any advice please of where I can start looking??

The only Humstone marriage I can find is ..

Samuel Humstone to Ann Harrison, St Oswald's Church Chester, 18/6/1822

This marriage is from the discs I have so it is transcribed from the parish registers.

A submitted entry on the IGI is when a member submits their own information. They cant supply a batch no so you cant check it out on the original films. The info could have come from anywhere. Be aware that some submitted entries are correct but I have found a few that are totally ficticious.

The Family search site is still a great resource.

Just a quick update - it seems Jon was correct with Samuel and Ann Harrison - thanks Jon

I have been looking on the updated family pilot and have now located a birth of Mary Ann HUMPSTON christened 1825 in St Oswald's Chester. Also a William HUMSTON christened 1823 in the same church - both to parents Samuel Humston(e) and Ann

I have also located a marriage in the same church - Samuel HUMSTONE and Ann Harrison!!

These are from a combination of BT's and the parish records - yehhhh

On to the next brick wall!!!! cos i can't find any of them in 1841
