Thread: Ada Platts abt 1886

Could anyone please help me . I am trying to find the birth or baptism of my gran Ada Platts . According to census records she was born about 1886 in Barnsley daughter of Horace Platts and Sarah Owens .

Sorry but I searched from 1884 to 1888 on the completed index and zilch!



How did you find her mothers maiden name? have you got one of her siblings birth certs?

I have her marriage certificate , 1891 census and 1901 census . I could not find her sister Ellens birth either . I would like to find her baptism also . She could have been registered at a later date , I don't know . If the census records are correct , marriage certificate and death certificate she was born between April and november 1886 .

I have a copy of her parents marriage certificate

She (and her sister) may have been registered as "female" Platts. When did her parents marry?

Hi Nikki thanks but we are in touch . Barbara is my cousin even though we have never met , I have met Alfie once a few years ago . My father Tom and his brother Alfred were the only ones to have children in their family . Tom and Ada had 6 children , Ada died and then Tom married Alice May Taylor , they had 3 children .

Which one of our family married a Philippino in Yorkshire . My wife is also a Philippino and would like to chat to him / her . I think he is a male doctor but not sure . She would like to get his email address .

Thanks for checking Gillian , her sister Ellen was the same . I just wondered if she was baptised . I have checked up to the day she got married without success for her birth . But living in Norfolk its hard to check for their baptisms .
