Hello Again,
Can anyone tell me where the area of Fritton, Norfolk may have come under as a Parish? Or was it separate?
Thanks

Fritton is suffolkGreat Yarmouth libary holds records of BMD for Fritton 1723- 0nwards. What are you trying to find, as maybe can pop in and see for you.
Hi Chris,
Keeps coming up under the Norfolk sites too. Is it one of the border places that keeps switching?
Possibility of Thomas, a son for Benjamin Gower and Hannah Utton born c1765 in Fritton Norfolk (according to the record and baptised in the same place 1766 - all from LDS and therefore dodgy details very possibly)
Possibly married Elizabeth but no dates and maybe moved to Alburgh. (son Thomas born c 1810)
Any leads would be much appreciated x

Hi Chris,
Yes, have been researching that brilliant link all morning. It is there that I finally found the confirmation of Benjamin and Hannah's marriage.
Also found the Claxton link but did you notice that there is a marriage in 1766 between Richard Claxton and Anne Gower (the groom is a widower), then there are deaths of Anne Claxton (wife), Judith Claxton (daughter) and John Claxton (son) in 1791. (They didn't pay any stamp - does that mean they were poor?)
Then Richard Claxton married Elizabeth Gower (also a widow from Morningthorpe) by licence.
If it's the same Richard he has been married at least 3 times!
All marriages and deaths in Fritton.
Would be great to link the Morningthorpe relatives as brothers/ sisters but nothing found yet.
When was small pox around? That is a lot of deaths in one family??
Tina
PS Don't suppose you've seen the Parish Registers on line for Alburgh have you? Might piece together a bit of my jigsaw there.
Tina
Smallpox was around quite a bit and typhoid fever , Morningthorpe ect not that far , so much of this area so different to then , will see what else i can find .
