    Default Joseph James Minett

Is there anyone who can search Parish Register for St. Pancras Old Church, Islington ?

I am looking for the death of my Gt.Grandfather. He was baptised there and marrried there, so am hoping he also had a funeral service there.

He does not appear to figure anywhere after the 1891 census, and is said to be deceased on his daughter's marriage certificate in 1902.

His full name was Joseph James Minett, born 19. Sept. 1855.

Married Eleanor Seares Robinson 13. Oct 1877

Living apart from his wife and children in the 1891 census.

He is not the Joseph Minett in the Workhouse in the 1901 census.

If anyone can find him anywhere, I would be very grateful, living in New Zealand on the OAP, it is not easy for me to travel around searching what is not available on the internet.!

    Thank you,

    Janet Macrae

Hi Janet... How do you know that the person in the 1901 who is in the workhouse is not your Joseph Minett? I can see one Joseph on the BMD born 1853 in Kidderminster but he is on the 1901... I cannot see any other Joseph Minett born in Islington around the right time?

I have searched BMD using Joseph and Min* and he is the only one that turns up.

    I hope this helps

    Thank you, Dee.

The Joseph Minett in the workhouse in 1901 also died there and I sent for the death Certificate. He was down as a "horse keeper" in the census and an "ostler" on the death cert. I also have his birth and marriage certificate and his father was William, a coffeehouse keeper, whereas my Joseph's father was Alphonus, a Soap Manufacturer.

I appreciate your looking on my behalf. I am beginning to think he must have died as an unknown, or changed his name.

    Thank you again,

    Janet Macrae
