Hi
I have a 4 x great grandfather who says on all the census' that he was born in Great Brington, Northamptonshire. He was born about 1789 - 1792. In 1820 he got married in Aylestone, Leicester and then moved to Kirby Muxloe in Leicester where he died in 1880.
We cannot find any evidence for him living in Great Brington. The only person that was born about the same time is someone for a different forename. Does anyone know what I can check that might show his movements from great brington or another Northamptonshire parish to Leicester sometime between his birth and his marriage. Somebody suggested settlement orders? Would these be in the records office in Northamptonshire. Is there anything else I can do? The problem is that I live a considerable distance from Northamtonshire.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
Thank you
Paul
