Thread: George Alexander Buchan & Rachel Grant ( Aberdeenshire)

Hi



The above George & Rachel are my 2nd great grandparents, born in Fraserburgh, George bc 1824, died 25 August 1893 & Rachel b 1824 died 20 December 1881.



They had 6 children the eldest being Mary Stewart Buchan ( my line) she married Alexander Cardno.



Can anyone help with the parents of George ( William Buchan & Mary Bruce) & Rachel, (Robert Grant & Jane Finnie) also any information on their children would be much appreciated.

Did George die in Scotland??

I dont have his death certificate but I believe he died in Fraserburgh. In the 1881 census George was working on the farm of Alexander Milne, Knowhead, Pitsligo.



Rachel died I believe at 55 High Street, Aberdour, same place as she was a few months earlier in the 1881 census.

Have checked on Scotlands People and have found his death cert...



His parents William Buchan and Mary Buchan nee Bruce...

Have found Rachel's death on Scotlands People as well..



she died as you say on the 20 Dec 1881 at the address in Aberdour.

Her parents were Robert Grant -gardener and her mother was Jane Grant nee Finnie - deceased.
