Hi Guys
Last night I was looking on Ancestry and found the WW1 Service Records for a Benjamin HOWSON brn c1892 Sheffield. As my Gt Gt Gramps & Gt Gt Gt Gramps have the same name I thought I would have a nosey at the records.......
lo and behold....I believe that he IS part of my family
Although I don't have the "certs to prove" this is my conclusion:
Benjamin (1892) enlisted in 1912 giving his Next of Kin as Mother Sarah HOWSON and brothers George & Thomas. Sarah was residing at 115 Scotland Street Sheffield.
Sarah Howson was on the 1901 at 34 Snow Lane with her daughter & S-i-L Charlotte & Walter Lowery. She also ( amongst others) had sons called George & Thomas
Walter Lowery was listed in the Whites Directory 1911 as residing at.....115 Scotland StreetD
Everything ties in......EXCEPT...I can find no trace of Benjamin on the 1901 census....bearing in mind he would only have been c 9 years old
I have posted on another forum and also searched myself....cannot find him
I tried searching for a benjamin born c1892 Sheffield and no surname...but nothing showed up
Any ideas?? help?? another way of pinning him down?
Thanks in advance
Loz
