Thread: Sergeant Richard Evans (Abbeytown Carlisle)

Has anyone any information on the name above.He was my Grandfather.I know that he was born in Liverpool in 1895 and died in 1942.He was in the 1st world war and the 2nd.Know he was with I think the Welsh Fusiliers.He was also with the Loyal north lancs,The Kings and finally The Border Regiment.He was injured at some point to his eye and had to pack in.He was married to Alice Maines on the 25/5/1920.She had already been married and had 7 children.Between them they had another 5.He left at some point and moved I think up to Blackburn way.He then eventually moved up to Abbeytown to a house called Swinsty Villa.He still worked in some way with the Border Regiment but how I am unsure.Dont know if he had married again or had any more children.Any info from that time would be fantastic.....Colin

Hi Pejay.Have all his army records,even have pics of when he was in WW1.What I need more than anything, is details of his life from when he left my Grandmother.Dont know if he re-married or had children.May have family out there who we dont even know existed.We know a lot about him otherwise.Prob from the early 30s down........Colin...
