Hi Slizzy.Would explain why I cant find him.Obviously right though as all ties in.Even the Son.The Son as I am aware through digging myself, never lasted too much longer than that.I think he died at about a year old. Will try and find any info under that name when and where he died. That is most important to me now.Not sure what the M is in Jessie though.Does not have that on the marriage certificate. Also if the family at 6 house 2 court Highfield street in the 1881 census was him.Know his Dad was also called Charles.Do you have a copy of the census or were can I find it.It is free to look at this one I think.......Thanks for all your help.Appreciated....Colin

    Hi Colin,

Just to add to the confusion I found the following in 1911 Liverpool Street Directory

    Metcalf E Burnes - 10 Allcard Street,Liverpool (Scenic Painter)

There was no listing for a Charles Burnes - Scenic Painter in either 1911 or 1938

Hi Nana.Yes that was correct. They were living there at that time.Just spoke to my Mother who says that they moved in with them at Three Butt lane in West Derby.Think it was 49.Maybe wrong. They moved there in about 1939 as the war was on.They apparently stayed there until She died in the 40s and he died in the 60s.(one for Slizzy who asked me that quesion last night).Dont know any more from there. Thanks for info so far, look forward to anything else that you can tell me,especially if yer find out anything about when he was a child, and if the he did live at the address that I sent you in the other part of the forum....Colin
