Ok I am not new to genealogy but I have just reached stalemate on my father's side I have no Beeep Idea where to go now. (Yes I'm now getting like Neil Fraser)

Looking for Wlliam Brodie Phillips born July 1926 in Inverness, he married my mother in Macclesfield Cheshire in 1950 (confirmed by Macclesfield Registry Office) My father went back to Inverness in the 1960's and died in 1976.

To cut a long story short I have recieved a reply back from The Scottish GRO and they have no record of his birth or death



I also recieved an email from a lady named Fiona sometime ago who works for the Scottish Council, she found his resting place at the Tomnahurich Cemetery up in the Highlands having given her his birth and death details. Unfortunately I no longer have her email address as since then I had to buy a new computer. So if Fiona could find him how come the Scottish GRO couldn't
