Thread: BUTTON William 1801

Hello again Listers,

Can anyone help with the following......



William Robert BUTTON was my g/father born 15 Dec. 1890.

He married Emma SOWTER [born 1891] 1915 in Redfern NSW.

6 children.



His father was......

William BUTTON born 1864 Cobdenham, Suffolk.

He married Elizabeth SALMON BORN C1867 of Takeley, Essex.

3 children



His father was ....

William BUTTON born 1801 Cobdenham Suffolk.

He married Mary Green b1796

8 children.



Is there anyone among our Listers able to take me back from this point?

Who were the parents of William 1801 and Mary 1796?

Who were their siblings?

I've looked on 1871 Essex census disc, and found some info for Elizabeth.



Father - Edward Salmon, age 26, occ- Farm Labourer, born - Takeley, Living at The cottage, Moleshill Green Takeley.



Mother - Emily, Aged 26, Labourer's Wife, born- Radwinter Essex



Children- Elizabeth, Aged 3, Labourer's daughter, born Takeley

Emma, Aged 2, " " " "







I also noticed that a Fred Button was staying at Takeley street at Census time. I don't know if he's anything to you, but here's his details anyway.



Fred Button, Aged 20, Grocery Shopman, Born in Clavely? (not easy to read), staying with William & Sarah Lambert of Takeley Street.
