Hi, I've been trying to find the birth certificate of my great grandmother. I do not know much about her all I really know is that she was born in Ireland in county Monaghan between the years of 1888-1905. The infromantion that I've gathered from my Uncle is that she was a protestant at birth and later convertated to the Catholic religon. She married my great grandfather in Ireland (his name was John Harvey Johnston[b.1898]) from Canada. He was in Ireland visiting a Uncle of his and she was the maid for the household, while he was there they ended up getting married and had a daughter in Ireland, then moved back to Canada and had 4 more children. In the late 1920s they ended up getting divorced. My great grandfather got custody of the children and she moved to Ontario and remarried to a man with the last name Millar. I have yet to find a birth,marriage,divorce,or death certificate for ANY of these names. The reason being that she never wanted anyone to know her age and she had scratched out her date of birth on her birth certificate, So I have no idea what her d/o/b is. Plus I'm not certian of her actual name all that I know is that everyone called her Lala but, I have yet to come across any Lala Wilson(s)(Millar?,Johston?) in my research. I've asked my mother & grandmother if they have the marriage or divorce certictifcates but both have neither. I'm very frusterated and I'd really just like to know the rest of my family history past my grandfather on my mothers side. Any infromation or help would be GREATLY apperciated.
