Could someone be able to help me with another query please? Is it possible to find out where someone lived in the early 1830s i.e. a street address, and if so where would I find the information? Thanks.

Hi Val,
Depending what area you are after, some one may have access to the street directories for that area.
Although the 1841 census is the first we have quick access to, earlier censuses were also taken although not all have survived. The information is not as great but you may get the head of household, the address and the number of inhabitants. These will need a parish record lookup, and also addresses may be found in the Poor law records. Again found in records offices.
Thanks for your response Starlight I do appreciate your help. I am looking for Charles Fellows of Henley on Thames who died in 1830, I am sorry to appear dim but are the records offices the UK National Archives or the Parish Records? Perhaps I should try a google search for street directories of that time.

Hi Val,
Records offices are in every County and hold the records of that County.
Parish records are BMD's for a given parish and are held in the records offices, main libraries and LDS centres.
The national archives hold the records for every County.
If that is wrong I am sure someone will correct this.
Hello Starlight, thanks a stack for the clarification re the records offices, you are a great help.
