Thread: Catherine Murphy b Ireland , parents Murphy / Doyle

Hello. I am looking for any info on my gt gt grandmother, Catherine Murphy.

From age at marriage , she would have been b.c. 1825. Her parents were named as John Murphy and Mary Doyle. Her birthplace was written as Dublin.

Catherine was charged with a crime and transported to Australia in 1852.

From the records I could find of the trials, she was charged at Wexford,, Ireland . The only Catherine Murphy I have found came out on ship 'Martin Luther'.

I know with a name like Murphy in Ireland , it would be looking for a needle in a haystack but any small clue would help.

Hi Jabi, im in Tasmania. my gt gt grandmother was catherine murphy also, there are so many by that name, but you just never know.
my catherine murphy was a convict, born in 1828, i know her mothers name was mary. she was transported on the ship "midlothian" in 1851, but apparently she was born in co monaghan, ireland.
if you have any more info on your catherine, i could cross check.
