    Hi Lauriemac,

As far as I am aware, the 1911 census is the latest one to become available. I have access to that one.

    Hi Lauriemac,

I am sorry, neither family is showing up on either the 1901 or 1911 census.

    Hi Carmela

That is great, thank you very much. what a pity the families originated in ireland, not the easiest place to research but you can't have it easy all the time.

    thanks again

    Hi again,

Just could not leave it alone. I have now found the Harrisons in 1901!

Bridget was then a widow and the census enumerator decided to add an extra "s" in Harrison. Margaret is Marguerite. No wonder I could not find them yesterday.

It seems that they emigrated to Canada in 1887 and the first two children were born in England. Bridget was also born in England, but gives Irish as her ethnic origin. I checked for Andrew's death and it looks like he died in 1898, but I only have access to an index, so no details. Bridget died in 1931. I love Quebec records they always give women's maiden names, even in burial records. It may be hard to find anything more about Andrew

since we don't even have a probable dob for him. Too bad, as he is probably the only one of this lot who is not Irish.

    1901 Canadian Census

    Quebec Hochelaga Montreal St-Gabriel B-8 page 10

    Name m/f relationship to Hd/marital state/ b.date/ age/ b.place/ ethnic origin/ yr of immigration

    Harrisson Bridget F Mother W Jan 1 1862 England Irish 1887

    Harrisson Matthew M Son S Sep 18 1882 18 England 1887

    Harrisson Catherine F Daur. S May 21 1885 15 England 1887

    Harrisson Hellene F Daur. S Jan 16 1888 12 Que.

    Harrisson Mary F Daur. S Aug 10 1890 10 Que.

    Harrisson Agnes F Daur. S Sep 14 1894 6 Que.

    Harrisson Marguerite F Daur. S Nov 28 1897 3 Que.

I may be able to find more at the library, but that must wait until I have time.

    Cheers,

    Carmela
